Randy Zarin is co-founder of Affirm Strategy and a senior leader with more than 30 years of executive and consulting experience. He has advised academic medical centers, health systems, universities, and other complex organizations on strategy, growth, transformation, financial performance, and major capital investments.
Throughout his career, Randy has served in senior executive roles spanning hospital operations, health system strategy, and academic health center leadership. His experience includes leading strategic growth for a 16-hospital division, serving as Chief Strategy Officer for a leading academic health sciences center, and developing and evaluating complex business cases and investment strategies.
Randy brings a practical, results-oriented perspective to strategic decision-making connecting vision and strategy with financial realities, operational execution, and measurable outcomes. He helps leadership teams navigate complex decisions, evaluate opportunities, build compelling business cases, and translate strategy into actionable roadmaps.
Randy is a Texas Certified Public Accountant (CPA). His CPA and his finance degrees from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School and the University of Houston underpin the financial rigor he brings to business cases and investment decisions.
A well-designed feasibility study establishes not only whether a major initiative is possible, but whether it should be pursued, under what conditions, and with what benefits, commitments and risks.
